The heart of this formula is not coverage but the direction of light. Spherical soft-focus particles of about 5 µm scatter direct light into diffuse light, so the hard shadow at the rim of a pore or a fine line loses contrast — an optical correction rather than a physical filling, which is why the finish stays thin. The base is 65% hydrating phase, so it resists flaking and clinging through the day. Six shades span cool, neutral and warm undertones.

Soft focus is optics, not filling

Spherical silica of roughly 5 µm breaks incoming direct light into diffuse light. A pore reads as visible because its rim casts one hard shadow; when light arrives from every direction at once, the contrast of that shadow drops and the pore recedes. Nothing about the structure of the skin has changed, which is exactly why the finish can be kept so thin.

Why six shades

The steps in a shade ladder should not be evenly spaced. In the cool range the eye is more sensitive to differences in redness, in the warm range to differences in yellowness — so #01 to #03 move a short distance in lightness and a long distance in undertone, and #04 to #06 do the reverse.
